Canadian Institute of International Affairs
http://www.ciia.orgThe Canadian Institute of International Affairs (CIIA) was founded in 1928 to bring together governments, NGOs, the private sector, academia and the concerned public in order to achieve a “deeper understanding of international affairs and Canada’s role in a changing world.” The CIIA is a non-partisan forum for the discussion, analysis, and debate of international affairs. It has received funding from Foreign Affairs Canada, International Trade Canada, the Department of National Defense, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council, and other foundations. The National Office is based in Toronto, but the CIIA has branches across Canada, from Vancouver to Halifax (as well as a branch in Boston).
Through conferences, seminars, speaker events, and publications, the Institute focuses on foreign policy and global issues. As well, the CIIA hosts the National Foreign Policy Conference, each year organized around a different “timely international theme.” The CIIA also publishes the International
Journal and Behind the Headlines.
