Citizens for Public Justice

The mission of Citizens for Public Justice (CPJ) is to promote public justice in Canada through the organization’s involvement in important public policy debates, as well as research and analysis, publishing, and public dialogue. CPJ has established guidelines based on an awareness of human dignity; mutual responsibility; economic equity; social justice; environmental integrity; and, fiscal fairness.

Citizens for Public Justice claims to be one of the few social justice organizations in Canada that combines policy analysis, development, and advocacy while, at the same time, critiquing the frameworks from which these concepts have been derived.

CPJ applies its public justice framework to issues of concern through research, analysis, publishing and public dialogue. Typically, it focuses on timely and relevant issues in Canadian policy, such as the elimination of child and family poverty, the notion of creating a friendly and hospitable environment for newcomers in Canada, and fostering citizenship.
